A Little Band with a Big Sound!

Five years ago a small group of folks living in Shroton, Dorset met to form a ukulele club. It was a steep learning curve for many but they persevered until they were good enough to start playing gigs at local events and functions. Local care homes found the lively music and songs that were part of their patients past lives had a cheering and helpful effect and the bookings kept coming in.

Now, after a number of changes, we have decided to rebrand ourselves as the Shroton Ukulele Band, distinctive in our red waistcoats and bow ties. Our repertoire now includes more recent songs as well as the oldies so we are able to cater for a wider range of audiences.

We are happy to entertain you during the day, in the evening or at weekends and have the technology to perform indoors or out (weather permitting!). We do charge a small fee but are proud to say that 90% or more of that fee goes to charity. So far we have donated over £5000 to organisations such as The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, RNLI, the Blandford Alzheimer’s group, Margaret Green Animal Rescue, the Shroton Village Hall maintenance fund, Julia’s House and many more.
